Introduction: Children undergoing long-term hemodialysis (HD) face a reduction in life expectancy mostly due to cardiovascular mortality. Effects of HD on cardiac function have not been fully elucidated in pediatric population.

Aim: This study aimed to assess HD session impact on cardiac function in pediatric patients using conventional and strain echocardiography.

Purpose: Several surgical implants have been used for the treatment of neck of femur fracture (NOF) in younger patients such as dynamic hip screw (DHS) and cannulated compression screw. However, the superiority of one or another osteosynthesis device remains a matter of debate. The aim of this work is to evaluate and compare three fixation modalities: Cannulated Hip Screws (CHS), DHS and DHS associated to anti-rotating screw for surgical treatment of femoral neck fracture in young adults.

A qualitative exploration of the barriers and facilitators affecting ethnic minority patient groups when accessing medicine review services: Perspectives of healthcare professionals.

Introduction: Healthcare inequalities and ethnicity are closely related. Evidence has demonstrated that patients from ethnic minority groups are more likely to report a long-term illness than their white counterparts; yet, in some cases, minority groups have reported poorer adherence to prescribed medicines and may be less likely to access medicine services. Knowledge of the barriers and facilitators that impact ethnic minority access to medicine services is required to ensure that services are fit for purpose to meet and support the needs of all.

Development and evaluation of a high-fidelity canine laparoscopic ovariectomy model for surgical simulation training and testing.

OBJECTIVE To develop and evaluate a high-fidelity simulated laparoscopic ovariectomy (SLO) model for surgical training and testing. DESIGN Evaluation study. SAMPLE 15 veterinary students (novice group), 5 veterinary surgical interns or residents (intermediate group), and 6 veterinary surgeons (experienced group).
