Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) is an emerging swift and nondestructive detecting method, offering a unique structural signature of analytes down to ultrasensitive levels. Herein, we present a novel SERS-based core-shell nanostructure with optimized silver shell thicknesses, capped with 2-mercaptoethylamine (2-MCE), to simultaneously detect multiple agrochemical residues in fruit samples. Compared to unmodified Au@AgNPs, the modified Au@Ag@2-MCENPs integrated with SERS exhibited improved sensitivity and stability, exhibiting a strong relationship between the SERS intensities and pesticide concentrations in the fruit samples, with LODs of 0.

Isoflavones are currently being investigated by researchers in order to demonstrate their ability to prevent the proliferation of cancer cells. The current review aimed to demonstrate the potential of isoflavones to eliminate cancerous cells in the stomach, liver, lung, breast, and prostate, as their anticancer properties are due to the ability to block the signaling pathways of the extracellular signal-controlled kinase (MAPK/ERK) and proteasome (PI3K/AKT/mTOR). Isoflavones can inhibit the cell division of various cancer cells.

Tannins play key roles in regulating ecological processes within mangrove ecosystems, but the structures of mangrove condensed tannins (CT) and hydrolysable tannins (HT), as well as their antioxidant and antibacterial activities, are not well understood. In this study, MALDI-TOF MS was used to analyze the structural components of oligomers and polymers in phenolic extracts from Kandelia obovata, Aegiceras corniculatum, and Sonneratia apetala. Results identified two primary structural units: procyanidins (PC) and prodelphinidins (PD), with mass-to-charge ratios of 288 Da and 304 Da, respectively, and a 16 Da interval indicating differences in hydroxylation.
