The World Health Organization considers water quality aesthetic parameters affecting taste, odor, and appearance as factors to be monitored to determine the overall safety of water. Water safety plans (WSPs) can be used by utilities to proactively identify aesthetic hazards, rank them by likelihood of occurrence and consequence to the utility, generate risk scores, and provide direction on how to monitor, mitigate, and verify that controls are in place. The City of Wichita Falls Public Water System (CWF PWS) used the water safety planning approach to outline how aesthetics may negatively affect the system from source water, in-plant processes, and into the distribution system.

Nanoparticle pollution has been shown to affect various organisms. However, the effects of nanoparticles on species interactions, and the role of species traits, such as body size, in modulating these effects, are not well-understood. We addressed this issue using competing freshwater phytoplankton species exposed to copper oxide nanoparticles.

The evolution of the role of the Professional Nurse Coach (NC) in recent years has been an empowering and innovative model for health and wellness for individuals, groups, communities, and populations. The relationships, requirements, and responsibilities of NC supervision to date, however, have not been fully examined. The aim of NC supervision is to provide feedback on the coaching process, and confidently guide the new NC to utilize creative problem-solving techniques and interventions.

In Spring 2020, the New York Army and Air National Guard (NYNG) rapidly deployed to New York City (NYC) to assist in the recovery, processing, and transport of COVID-19 decedents. This study reports on a survey conducted by NYNG service members three to six months post-mission ( = 177). Data showed that there was a dose-response relationship between mission stress exposure and decremented mental health, but certain activities were associated with better mental health outcomes.

Much has been written about the inclusion of holistic nursing philosophy and practices in undergraduate nursing education, but their inclusion and influence in advanced practice nursing education have not been fully explored. Supporting a holistic paradigm and model of care founded on evidenced-based clinical theory allows for expanded nursing practice and health care options for patients. Holistic nursing aligns with culturally competent, patient-centered care and is consistent with how our current health care landscape has evolved in recent years.
