Background And Objectives: Autoimmune encephalitis (AIE) and paraneoplastic neurologic syndromes (PNSs) encompass a heterogeneous group of antibody-associated disorders. Both the number of syndromes and commercially available antibody tests have increased considerably over the past decade. This article reports on a bioanalytical sensor device that hosts three different transducer principles: impedance spectroscopy, quartz-crystal microbalance with dissipation monitoring, and the thermal-current-based heat-transfer method. These principles utilize a single chip, allowing one to perform either microbalance and heat transfer measurements in parallel or heat transfer and impedance measurements. When taking specific precautions, the three measurement modalities can even be used truly simultaneously.

The mucosal origin hypothesis of rheumatoid arthritis has renewed the interest in IgA autoantibodies, but their added value over IgG anti-citrullinated protein antibody (ACPA) and IgM rheumatoid factor (RF) for modern treatment outcomes remains unknown. We aimed to investigate the prognostic value of IgA-ACPA and IgA-RF for treatment outcomes in an early arthritis population.
