To determine the association between pharmacy practice didactic course examinations and performance-based assessments with students' performance during their advanced pharmacy practice experiences (APPEs). This retrospective analysis included data from the graduating classes of 2018 to 2020. Students were coded as APPE poor performers (final course grade <83%) or acceptable performers.

Objective: To evaluate online case simulation vs a paper case on student confidence and engagement.

Design: Students enrolled in a pharmacotherapy laboratory course completed a patient case scenario as a component of an osteoarthritis laboratory module. Two laboratory sections used a paper case (n=53); three sections used an online virtual case simulation (n=81).

Objective: To compare performance and preferences of students who were randomly allocated to classroom or online sections of an elective course on immunization.

Methods: Students were randomly assigned to either the classroom or online section. All course activities (lectures, quizzes, case discussions, vaccine administration, and final examination) were the same for both sections, except for the delivery of lecture material.

Background: Ventilatory pressures should target the range between the upper and lower inflection point of the pressure volume curve in order to avoid atelecto- and volutrauma. During high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV), this range is difficult to determine. Quadrant impedance measurement (QIM) has recently been shown to allow accurate and precise measurement of lung volume changes during conventional mechanical ventilation.
