Increased Prevalence of Skeletal Anomalies on Ultrasound Evaluation of Buprenorphine-Exposed Human Fetuses.

Objectives: In this study, buprenorphine was the primary source of maternal opioid exposure at the time of initial prenatal evaluation. Current recommendations advise that level II ultrasounds be performed in patients with substance use disorders. For some patients, distance, transportation, and costs associated with obtaining ultrasounds from a specialist pose significant barriers.

Normative reference interval for youths on the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS).

Background: The Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS) is widely used in both clinical and non-clinical research to assess emotional regulation difficulties. To guide interpretation of scores, establishing thresholds for normative DERS scores is informative. However, despite its widespread use, to date no study has provided such threshold for youths.

Ms44-SPT: unique genetic technology simplifies and improves hybrid maize seed production in sub-Saharan Africa.

Hybrid maize seed production in Africa is dependent upon manual detasseling of the female parental lines, often resulting in plant damage that can lead to reduced seed yields on those detasseled lines. Additionally, incomplete detasseling can result in hybrid purity issues that can lead to production fields being rejected. A unique nuclear genetic male sterility seed production technology, referred to as Ms44-SPT, was developed to avoid hybrid seed loss and to improve the purity and quality of hybrid maize production.

YKL-40, cardiovascular events, and mortality in individuals recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes: A Danish cohort study.

Aims: We investigated the association of the inflammatory biomarker YKL-40 with cardiovascular events (CVEs) and mortality in individuals with type 2 diabetes.

Methods: We followed 11,346 individuals recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for up to 14 years. Baseline YKL-40 levels (measured in 9,010 individuals) were grouped into percentiles (0-33 %, 34-66 %, 67-90 %, and 91-100 %) and analyzed continuously (per 1 SD log increment), with comparisons to CRP (measured in 9,644 individuals).

School-based social and educational support for siblings of children with cancer - Siblings' and parents' feedback on an intervention proposal (SUPREME).

Purpose: Siblings of children with cancer experience the consequences of their brother or sister's disease and treatment firsthand, often causing social and school-related difficulties. This study aimed to gather parents' and siblings' feedback on a proposal for a school-based social and educational support intervention for siblings with the goal of tailoring the program to meet the needs of siblings.

Method: Adopting a criterion sampling strategy, we conducted interviews with 20 parents and 11 siblings, aged 7-19 years, of children with cancer.
