Background: The shoulder girdle and proximal humerus are common sites for neoplastic lesions be it benign or malignant. We aimed to evaluate the outcomes of a frugal method of reconstruction of the proximal humerus for neoplastic lesions at short to medium term follow-up.

Methods: Data for this retrospective case series was collected from an electronic data base held at the primary authors institution.

Phthalazine Derivatives as VEGFR-2 Inhibitors: Docking, ADMET, Synthesis, Design, Anticancer Evaluations, and Apoptosis Inducers.

New phthalazine-derived inhibitors for VEGFR-2 were synthesized for anticancer evaluations. Also, docking studies were performed to explore the suggested binding orientations of the novel derivatives inside the binding site of VEGFR-2. The achieved biological data were extremely interrelated to that of docking study.

Background: Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a severe neuromuscular disorder, often leading to wheelchair dependence by age 13 with limited treatment options, largely relying on glucocorticosteroids. We assessed the efficacy and safety of vamorolone, a modified synthetic corticosteroid, for DMD.

Methods: We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis using seven databases including prospective studies comparing vamorolone with glucocorticosteroids or placebo in DMD patients.

One of the biggest challenges in food packaging is the creation of sustainable and eco-friendly packaging materials to shield foods from ultraviolet (UV) photochemical damage and to preserve the distinctive physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of foods throughout the supply chain. Accordingly, this study focuses on enhancing the UV shielding properties and biological activity of carboxylmethyl cellulose sodium (CMC) through modifications using zinc oxide (ZnO), copper oxide (CuO), and graphene oxide (GO) using the solution casting technique. The hybrid nanocomposites were characterized by fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectrophotometer, ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometer, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and x-ray diffraction (XRD).

Pathological studies on skeletal muscle atrophy in common fish products from El-Jubail Province, Saudi Arabia.

In this study, 10 fish species, Jayan flounder (Pseudorhombus javanicus); Oriental sole (Eurgglossa arientalis); Oange-spotted grouper (Epinephelus coioides); Blacktip trevally (Caranx heberi); Towbar seabream (Acanthopagrus bifascia); Smalltooth emperor (Lethrinus microdon); Spangled emperio (Lethrinus nebulous); Sharptooth hammer croaker (Johnius vogleri); Bigeye croaker (Pennahia anea) and Redspine thread bream (Nemipterus nemurus), were examined in El-Jubail province, Saudi Arabia, Arabian Gulf region over three years from 2017 to 2020. The examined fish species showed muscular atrophy in a total percent of 1.1%, but with variable percentages of affections in each species.
