Background: Essential tremor (ET) is a disabling syndrome consisting of tremor, primarily in the upper limbs. We assessed the correlation of The Essential Tremor Rating Assessment Scale (TETRAS) Performance Item 4 ratings of upper limb tremor with the TETRAS activities of daily living (ADL) subscale and with 2 quality of life (QoL) scales.
Methods: This noninterventional, cross-sectional, point-in-time survey of neurologists(n = 60), primary care physicians (n = 38), and their patients with ET (n = 1,003) used real-world data collected through the Adelphi ET Disease Specific Programme™.

- The study aimed to compare the effectiveness of zuranolone, a new oral treatment for postpartum depression (PPD), with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and other combination therapies in adults in the U.S.
- Using randomized controlled trials and advanced statistical methods, the research highlighted that patients treated with zuranolone had a significantly greater reduction in depression symptoms (measured by the EPDS scale) compared to those on SSRIs, especially noticeable by Day 15 and Day 45.
- However, limitations included a lack of population overlap between the studies, which affected the analysis and introduced some uncertainty regarding the results.
Background: Essential tremor (ET) is among the most common movement disorders in adults. While ET is diagnosed and primarily characterized by the presence of tremor, it also can impact cognition, sleep, mood, and motor functioning more broadly. The manifestations of ET can have various consequences, including difficulty with activities of daily living (ADL), embarrassment, and overall decline in health-related quality of life, which have not been fully explored in prior studies.

Background: Essential tremor (ET) is one of the most common movement disorders worldwide, yet the size of the pediatric ET population is not well understood. The objective of this review was to identify, evaluate, and synthesize evidence describing the epidemiology of pediatric ET in the United States published between 2010 and 2020.
Methods: The authors searched MEDLINE, Embase, and the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews using terms related to ET, epidemiology, and pediatric patients.
Undergraduate research is one of the most valuable activities an undergraduate can engage in because of its benefits, and studies have shown that longer experiences are more beneficial. However, prior research has illuminated that undergraduates encounter challenges that may cause them to exit research prematurely. These studies have been almost exclusively conducted at research-intensive (R1) institutions, and it is unclear whether such challenges are generalizable to other institution types.
