Review on the impact of heavy metals from industrial wastewater effluent and removal technologies.

The incidence of water pollution in developing countries is high due to the lack of regulatory policies and laws that protect water bodies from anthropogenic activities and industrial wastewater. Industrial wastewater contains significant amounts of heavy metals that are detrimental to human health, aquatic organisms, and the ecosystem. The focus of this review was to evaluate the sources and treatment methods of wastewater, with an emphasis on technologies, advantages, disadvantages, and innovation.

Technical and economic simulation of a hybrid renewable energy power system design for industrial application.

Countries in Africa rank the highest in low energy accessibility and air pollution globally. Presenting the urgent need to explore renewable energy sources to tackle the power challenge and reduce the carbon footprint for a greener atmosphere. A novel hybrid wind and solar renewable energy power system (HREPS) coupled to a battery that is capable of powering industrial appliances in the Basse district of The Gambia has been proposed.

Performance assessment of a refrigeration system with an integrated condenser under different environmental conditions.

This paper presents a workable vapour compression system (VCS) for evaluating the performance of a refrigeration system with an integrated condenser that uses a long-term alternative refrigerant to halocarbon as a heat transfer medium (R600a). India's refrigeration system uses halocarbon refrigerants due to their excellent thermophysical and thermodynamic properties. Greenhouse gas emissions from halocarbon refrigerants and fossil fuel combustion contribute to global warming that engenders climate change and the deterioration of the ecosystem.

Technical analysis of wind energy potentials using a modified Weibull and Raleigh distribution model parameters approach in the Gambia.

Wind energy has gained prominence over the past few decades because of its environment-friendly nature and abundant availability. However, the exploration of wind energy requires adequate knowledge of the wind distribution parameters before installing the wind turbine. This study assessed the potential of harvesting wind energy at two Gambian locations by fitting the best model comparing Weibull and Raleigh Distributions.
