Purpose/aim: This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of joint lavage in managing knee osteoarthritis (OA) by evaluating its effect on pain relief, inflammatory markers, cartilage-degrading enzymes, and oxidative stress.

Methods: Seventy patients with Kellgren-Lawrence grade 2 or 3 knee OA were selected for this single-center study. Joint lavage was performed, and pain and function were measured using the visual analog scale (VAS) and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) scores at baseline and 24 weeks postintervention.

: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the position of the humeral head relative to the glenoid and the occurrence of iatrogenic surgical neck fractures of the humerus during anterior glenohumeral dislocation reductions. : Patients with first-time anterior shoulder dislocations without generalized joint hyperlaxity were included. The humeral head displacement ratio was calculated as the distance between the medial border of the humeral head and the anterior glenoid rim divided by the diameter of the humeral head.

Background: This cost of illness study aimed to determine economic burden of short-acting β2-agonist (SABA) overuse in Türkiye from payer perspective with respect to the updated GINA 2022 treatment recommendations.

Methods: A total of 3,034,879 asthma patients comprised the study population, via estimations extrapolated from the Türkiye arm of the global SABINA III study. The economic burden (costs related to the drug use and severe exacerbations) was compared in subgroups of overall (≥ 0 canisters/year) vs.

Introduction: Pharyngocutaneous fistula (PCF) is one of the most challenging complications observed after a total laryngectomy. Since the biochemical components of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) have well-known synergistic effects on the healing processes, this study aimed to demonstrate the contribution of PRF application to pharyngeal healing in patients undergoing a total laryngectomy for laryngeal cancer.

Methods: The study compared patients who underwent a total laryngectomy due to laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma and had a PRF membrane placed during the pharyngoesophageal closure with those who did not.

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of N-acetylcysteine (NAC) in preventing complex regional pain syndrome type 1 (CRPS-1) by reducing proinflammatory cytokines and oxidative stress markers in patients with distal radius fractures. A retrospective single-center study at Bursa City Hospital involves patients over 50 years of age with distal radius fractures treated between January 2021 and December 2023. A total of 60 patients (mean age, 62.
