Introduction: One of the key challenges regarding the management of twins involves choosing the optimal mode of delivery, which is strongly influenced by the final presentation of both fetuses. In cases of vertex-nonvertex pregnancies attempting the trial of vaginal delivery, external cephalic version (ECV) is one of possible management options. The main objective of this review was to collect and summarize available data in terms of the application of ECV in the population of nonvertex second twins.

Objectives: Our study aims at the comprehensive analysis of adverse events (AEs) in patients with symptomatic uterine fibroids (UFs) who underwent magnetic resonance-guided high-intensity focused ultrasound (MR-HIFU) in the last 6 years in one of the major Polish centers performing this type of therapy.

Methods: The presented retrospective case-control study was conducted in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pro-Familia Hospital, Rzeszów in cooperation with the Second Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Center of Postgraduate Medical Education, Warsaw. The study enrolled 372 women with symptomatic UFs who underwent MR-HIFU and reported AEs during or after the procedure.

A total of 9661 persons, mainly from southern region of Poland, were tested by using Sabin-Feldman dye test and ELISA test to determine the IgG class in the years 1991-2000. The tests were positive in 5297 persons (54.8%).

The studies demonstrated high larvicidal efficiacy of the combined liposomal anthelmintic therapy supplemented with liposomal (beta-glucan) wchich acted as immunomodulator on the immune system of the infected animals. Therapeutic effect was very high in the treatment of hepatopneumonic toxocarosis as well as in cerebromuscular infection, reaching 94.3 and 89.
