Objective: The purpose of this article is to evaluate the relationship between apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values, tumor volume, and total Gleason grade in patients with prostate cancer before radical prostatectomy.
Materials And Methods: A total of 110 patients with prostate cancer who had undergone endorectal prostate MRI at 1.5 T before radical prostatectomy were included.
Purpose: We determined the feasibility of renal cryotherapy in humans.
Materials And Methods: Two patients with tumors in a solitary kidney were treated with renal cryotherapy.
Results: Both patients tolerated renal cryotherapy well with no change in renal function and no postoperative complications.
CGP 48664A (4-amidinoindan-1-one2'-amidinohydrazone) is a novel inhibitor of S-adenosyl-methionine decarboxylase (SAMDC), a key enzyme in the biosynthesis of polyamines, which are themselves essential for proliferation of mammalian cells. Seven different human melanoma cell lines were treated in vitro with CGP 48664A. High, intermediate and low levels of cytostasis were induced in four, one and two melanoma lines, respectively.

Under in vitro conditions, CGP 48664A produced cytostasis of the human prostate cancer cell lines LNCaP, LNCaP-LN3, PC-3M, and PC-3M-MM2 in a dose-dependent manner. This cytostasis was reversed by the addition of exogenous polyamines to the culture medium.

The retroperitoneal space was developed by inflating a balloon. Renal parenchymal hemostasis was obtained by a newly designed double loop apparatus and the argon beam coagulator.
