Background: Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) revolutionized the molecular diagnostics of lung cancer by enabling non-invasive, sensitive identification of actionable mutations. However, ctDNA analysis may be challenging due to tumor shedding variability, leading to false negative results. This study aims to understand the determinants for ctDNA shedding based on clinical characteristics of lung cancer patients, for a better interpretation of false negative results to be considered when ordering ctDNA analysis for clinical practice.

Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) provides comprehensive and dynamic information to guide the management of diabetes mellitus (DM). This paper summarizes the evidence and implications of the use of the new CGM system, FreeStyle Libre 2 (FSL2). A global review of the literature on the use of FSL2 in people with DM was performed.

Methods: Patients who underwent ACL reconstruction using doubled autologous hamstring graft were prospectively assessed pre-operatively, 6, and 12 months after surgery using International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) Subjective Knee Form, Tegner activity level, and ACL-Return to Sport after Injury (ACL-RSI) scale. Jumping ability was instrumentally assessed using a test battery including bipodalic squat jump (SJ), bipodalic countermovement jump (CMJ), monopodalic CMJ, and monopodalic side-hop test.
Understanding the capability of a drug to penetrate the blood-brain barrier (BBB) is an unmet medical need in patients with positive human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2 positive) and brain metastases. The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines recommend the use of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) lapatinib, neratinib, and tucatinib in co-administration with monoclonal antibodies or chemotherapy drugs and the antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) trastuzumab-deruxtecan and trastuzumab-emtansine. Predicting the BBB permeability of these therapeutic agents is a pharmacological challenge due to the various factors involved in the barrier functions.
