Analysis of the validity of the five-level TRIPED-GM paediatric triage system.

Objective: To determine the validity of the five-level TRIPED-GM pediatric triage system.

Methods: Unicentric, observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study of 485 patients aged 0-16 years in the pediatric emergency department of the HGU Gregorio Marañon. Two measures of validity were used: a direct measure calculated by the sensitivity and specificity obtained based on the number of infratriages and overtriages of the priorities given by classification nurses compared with a panel of experts and another indirect measure by the length of stay, the resources consumed and the percentage of income for each priority level.

Nursing Attitude About the Family Involvement in Hospitalized Children Care.

Introduction: Family it's a unit which is characterized by the relationship between its members, the interdependence between them in health, presupposes that care will be more efficient if targeted the family system as a unit. In that fact the impact of illness and hospitalization drives the nursing staff to include the family in health care. Nurses think their relationship with families is not easy, which generates different attitudes towards them and present the possibility to allow its participation in care.

Background: The nursing profession is focused on patient care, without forgetting that patients are part of a social group, the family. The aim of this study was the adaptation of the "Families' Importance in Nursing Care-Nurses' Attitudes" (FINC-NA) scale to the Spanish language and its validation.

Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out, using the bidirectional translation method for linguistic-cultural adaptation.

[Triage evaluation making in a pediatric emergency department of a tertiary hospital].

Objective: Evaluation triage level assignments depending level of the professionals' education and experience in the unit.

Method: This was a retrospective and observational study to triages making from January to March 2012 in Pediatric Emergency Department of tertiary hospital in Madrid. The collection data included variables from Pediatric Canadian Triage with five levels, triage tool using in the unit.
