Whey powder: a potential anti-diarrheal agent through its biofilm formation.

Whey, the natural product resulting from coagulation of milk is reported to have diverse pharmaceutical credentials. In the present investigation the anti-diarrhoeal activity of the whey powder was investigated. The Whey powder which was prepared using rennet powder and lactic acid, was studied against Magnesium sulphate-induced Diarrhea in Swiss Albino mice.

Isolation and characterization of bioactive and antibacterial compound from Helianthus annuus linn.

A bioactive compound with antibacterial activity was isolated and purified from the extract of leaves of sunflower, Helianthus annuus. The bioactive compound was characterized using 1H and 13C NMR. The compound induced auxin, gibberellins and cytokinin in Oryza sativa and Phaseolus mungo.

CDAC--development of a curated database of anticancer compounds from marine resources.

Anticancer compounds from marine source find application in cancer treatment. Several such compounds have been identified and documented. Here, we describe the development of CDAC, a curated database on anticancer compounds from marine sources.
