This study investigated heavy metal contamination in cow and buffalo milk from industrial and residential areas of Raipur, India, assessing health risks and identifying contamination sources. Milk samples were collected from seven sites and analyzed for Zn, Ni, Fe, Mn, Cu, Cr, Cd, Pb, and As using inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) and atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). Results revealed higher contamination in industrial areas, with fodder being a primary source for Zn, Ni, Fe, and Cu, while water contributed to Mn, Cr, and As.

Objectives: The management of total colonic aganglionosis (TCA) in low-middle income countries (LMIC) is challenging. We aimed to analyze the profile, management, and outcome of patients with TCA at an Indian referral centre.

Methods: A retrospective review of demography, presentation, investigations, and treatment of patients with TCA at a single centre over 22 years with a standardized protocol is detailed.

Herein, we report an effective multi-component synthesis that starts with readily available starting materials and accesses poly-substituted pyridine derivatives by using L-proline as a benign catalyst. This process uses cyclic amines, aldehydes, and malononitrile in a condensation reaction to produce a variety of pyridine derivatives under mild conditions. Furthermore, depending on the catalysts used, the selective synthesis of an amide and/or an aldehyde functionality is achieved through α-C(sp)-H oxygenation of the tertiary amine moiety in the resultant pyridine derivatives.

Initially, four synthetic fluorescent polymers (SFPs) are synthesized from α-methacrylic acid and methanolacrylamide monomers carrying -C(=O)OH and -C(=O)NH subfluorophores, respectively. Among SFPs, ∼1:1 incorporation of subfluorophores in the optimum SFP3 is explored by spectroscopic analyses. Subsequently, chitosan is incorporated in SFP3 to produce five semi-synthetic fluorescent polymers (SSFPs).

The goal of this work was to assess the competence of organic hydrophobic resin bound gold nanocomposites (OH/R-AuNCs) for detection of pymetrozine insecticide from vegetable samples employing surface-enhanced/attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared (SE/ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy. The adsorption isotherm models, including the Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin, are tested to reveal the interactive behaviour between the OH/R-AuNCs and pesticide. The adsorption occurs principally by London-Van der Waals dispersion interactions and hydrogen bonding interactions between the surface of OH/R-AuNCs materials and the hydrophobic part of pesticide molecule.
