Advancing Health Policy and Outcomes for People With Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities: A Community-Led Agenda.

Importance: At least 10 million people in the United States have an intellectual and/or developmental disability (IDD). People with IDD experience considerably higher rates of poor overall health, chronic conditions including diabetes, mental health challenges, maternal mortality, and preventable deaths. This Special Communication proposes national goals based on a community-led consensus model that advances priority health outcomes for people with IDD and their caregivers/partners and identifies critical policy opportunities and challenges in achieving these goals.

The importance of integrated therapies on cancer: Silibinin, an old and new molecule.

In the landscape of cancer treatments, the efficacy of coadjuvant molecules remains a focus of attention for clinical research with the aim of reducing toxicity and achieving better outcomes. Most of the pathogenetic processes causing tumour development, neoplastic progression, ageing, and increased toxicity involve inflammation. Inflammatory mechanisms can progress through a variety of molecular patterns.

Impact of age and donor sites on bioactivities of tendon cells in autologous tenocyte implantation (OrthoATI™) for treatment of chronic tendinopathy.

Objectives: Autologous tenocyte implantation (OrthoATI™) therapy has demonstrated efficacy in treating patients with tendinopathy at various anatomical sites. This study evaluates the effect of patient age, gender, and tendon biopsy site on morphology, growth, and gene expression of autologous tendon cells used to treat chronic tendinopathy.

Methods: Patients undergoing OrthoATI™ for tendinopathies between 2020 and 2022 were initially treated by biopsies taken from patella tendon (PT) or palmaris longus tendon (PL).

[Dengue, chikungunya and the mosquito vector at the Southern limit of distribution during the 2023 epidemic, Argentina].

Objectives: To monitor the oviposition activity of the mosquito Aedes aegypti and of dengue and chikungunya cases in four localities of temperate Argentina, during the 2023 epidemic.

Methods: During the summer and autumn of 2023, the oviposition activity of the mosquito vector was monitored weekly using ovitraps, and the arrival of cases with dengue or chikungunya in Tandil, Olavarría, Bahía Blanca and Laprida were registered.

Results: Monthly variations of the percentage of positive traps were similar in the first three locations; in Laprida the mosquito was not detected.

Competitive leptomeningeal flow impact on thrombectomy reperfusion grade rating.

Background: Competitive leptomeningeal flow (CLF) can be observed immediately after mechanical thrombectomy (MT) reperfusion with retrograde contrast clearing of the distal leptomeningeal branches from non-contrast opacified flow through different vascular territories. We aim to evaluate the frequency of the CLF phenomenon, to determine if it has an association with the degree of leptomeningeal collateral status, and to understand the potentia impact it may have on the final expanded Treatment in Cerebral Ischemia (eTICI) score rating.

Methods: Retrospective analysis of a prospective MT database spanning November 2020 to December 2021.
