Background: Myotonic Dystrophy type 2 (DM2) is a dominantly inherited multisystem disease caused by a CCTG repeat expansion in intron 1 of the CNBP gene. Although in the last two decades over 1500 patients with DM2 have been diagnosed worldwide, our clinical impression of a reduced life expectancy in DM2 has not been investigated previously.

Objective: The aim of this observational study was to determine the life expectancy and the causes of death in patients with genetically confirmed DM2.

Background: Contact precautions are recommended when caring for patients with carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales (CPE), carbapenemase-producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CPPA), and extended-spectrum β-lactamase-producing Enterobacterales (ESBL-E).

Aim: Our aim was to determine the interpretation of contact precautions and associated infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in the non-ICU hospital setting for patients with CPE, CPPA or ESBL-E in 11 hospitals in the Southwest of the Netherlands.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey was developed to collect information on all implemented IPC measures, including use of personal protective equipment, IPC measures for visitors, cleaning and disinfection, precautions during outpatient care and follow-up strategies.

In this study, we estimate the niche overlap between native and invaded ranges of 36 Lessepsian fish, focusing on how this estimate might vary in relation to the temporal resolution of sea surface temperature and salinity, which are the main niche axes determining their distribution. Specifically, we wanted to address the following questions: (i) Does the choice of temporal averaging method of variables influence the estimation of niche overlap for individual variables? (ii) Does this temporal resolution effect persist when conducting bivariate niche estimations? Niches overlap was estimated by calculating two indices and these analyses were repeated at two temporal resolutions, matching observations to the classic 'multidecadal' average of environmental conditions and to the corresponding annual average of records. Results are compared with verify whether differences can be detected in the magnitude of niche commonality measured at annual or multidecadal temporal resolution.

Introduction: Upon vaccination against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) humans will start to produce antibodies targeting virus specific antigens that will end up in circulation. In lactating women such antibodies will also end up in breastmilk, primarily in the form of secretory immunoglobulin A1 (SIgA1), the most abundant immunoglobulin (Ig) in human milk. Here we set out to investigate the SIgA1 clonal repertoire response to repeated SARS-CoV-2 vaccination, using a LC-MS fragment antigen-binding (Fab) clonal profiling approach.
