Plant-based meat alternatives (PBMAs) such as the Impossible Burger imitate animal meat appearance, taste, feel, and texture. Part of their consumer appeal are the views that PBMAs are more environmentally friendly, reduce inhumane treatment of animals, and/or have preferred nutritional attributes. College-educated adults are one of the larger markets for these products.

Discovery of a Novel Mutant-Selective Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor Inhibitor Using an Enabled Drug Discovery Platform.

Despite the success of first, second, and third generation epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) for non-small cell lung cancer with classical EGFR mutations (L858R or Exon 19 deletions), disease progression occurs due to the acquisition of T790M and C797S resistance. Herein, we report a physics-based computationally driven lead identification approach that identified structurally unique imidazo[3.2-]pyrazoles as reversible and wild-type-sparing EGFR TKIs of classical mutations bearing both T790M and C797S.

Influence of Mental Model-derived Themes on the Quality of Radiological Emergency Response by HAZMAT Technicians: Insights from a Case Study.

This paper investigates the link between gaps in emergency responders' notions of mental model regarding radiation and risk and their effectiveness in responding to radiological incidents. Particularly, this work focused on exploring themes that emerged in prior work related to improper understanding and application of knowledge concepts related to radiation risks and Radiological Dispersal Device (RDD) scenarios (Leek et al., 2024b).

Health Effect of Elderly Family Planning Subsidy on Older Chinese with Only One Child.

The decades-long one-child policy in China has led to a growing number of older individuals with only one child. The Elderly Family Planning Subsidy (EFPS) policy was introduced to provide extra financial support to this group and was expanded nationwide in 2012. This study investigated the relationship between EFPS use and health among EFPS-eligible older Chinese using data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study.
