[Association Between Parkinson's Disease and Functionality in Older Adults in Chile: The Case of the Maipú Commune].

Unlabelled: Population aging has caused a rise in neurodegenerative diseases among which includes Parkinson's disease. However, in Chile, there is still little knowledge about how Parkinson's disease is associated with functionality in elderly people.

Aim: to examine the association between Parkinson's disease and functionality in elderly people of Maipú, Metropolitan region, between the years 2017-2019.

Methods: This is a systematic review with meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and quasi-experimental studies on the effects of exercise interventions in the inflammatory markers of sedentary adults with MHO phenotype. Systematic searches were performed in PubMed, Cochrane, CINAHL, and OVID from January 2021 to January 2022.

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) exhibit widespread global distribution, extending to remote regions including Antarctica. Despite potential adverse effects on seabirds, PFAS exposure among Antarctic penguins remains poorly studied. We investigated the occurrence of 29 PFAS compounds in feathers and excreta of Gentoo penguins (Pygoscelis papua) from Fildes Bay, Antarctica.
