Introduction: It is not uncommon for patients to experience postoperative neurologic deficit, thoracic radiculopathy, abdominal pain, or lower extremity paresthesia after the implantation of thoracic spinal cord stimulator (SCS) paddle leads. Smaller thoracic canal diameters have previously been associated with postoperative neurologic deficits.

Objective: This imaging study examined whether postoperative SCS neurologic complaints other than neurologic deficit may be correlated with thoracic spinal canal diameter.

Pseudomyxoma Peritonei: An Incidental Diagnosis With Atypical Intraoperative Findings Discovered During a Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy.

Although pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) classically presents with profuse mucinous ascites within the peritoneal cavity, the physical manifestations of this disease exist on a spectrum, with the possibility of milder forms that lack typical findings. The authors report an indolent case of PMP diagnosed incidentally during workup and treatment for chronic cholecystitis in a 43-year-old male. This presentation of PMP was atypical due to a lack of discernible symptoms as well as uncharacteristic intraoperative findings consisting of numerous omental and pelvic adhesions with only sparse mucinous deposits.

Tuning Film Stresses for Open-Air Processing of Stable Metal Halide Perovskites.

Challenges to upscaling metal halide perovskites (MHPs) include mechanical film stresses that accelerate degradation, dominate at the module scale, and can lead to delamination or fracture. In this work, we demonstrate open-air blade coating of single-step coated perovskite as a scalable method to control residual film stress after processing and introduce beneficial compression in the thin film with the use of polymer additives such as gellan gum and corn starch. The optoelectronic properties of MHP films with compression are improved with higher photoluminescence yields.

Analysis of spinal canal diameter in the placement of thoracic spinal cord stimulator paddle leads.

Background: Neurologic deficit is known as a rare complication of thoracic spinal cord stimulator (SCS) paddle lead implantation, but many believe its incidence after SCS paddle lead placement is under-reported. It is possible that imaging characteristics may be used to help predict safe paddle lead placement.

Objective: This imaging study was undertaken to determine the minimum canal diameter required for safe paddle lead placement.
