Well-being approaches targeted to improve child and youth health post-COVID-19 pandemic: a scoping review.

Background: Our previous work synthesized published studies on well-being interventions during COVID-19. As we move into a post-COVID-19 pandemic period there is a need to comprehensively review published strategies, approaches, and interventions to improve child and youth well-being beyond deleterious impacts experienced during COVID-19.

Methods: Seven databases were searched from inception to January 2023.

Reducing external ventricular drain associated ventriculitis: An improvement project in a level 1 trauma center.

Background: External ventricular drain (EVD)-associated infections have a negative impact on healthcare cost and patient outcomes. Practice variation in EVD management may place patients at increased risk for EVD-associated infection. This project aimed to evaluate the impact of implementing an interprofessional evidence-based EVD bundle of care on reduction of EVD-related ventriculitis rates.

Strategies to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on child and youth well-being: a scoping review protocol.

Introduction: Children and youth are often more vulnerable than adults to emotional impacts of trauma. Wide-ranging negative effects (eg, social isolation, lack of physical activity) of the COVID-19 pandemic on children and youth are well established. This scoping review will identify, describe and categorise strategies taken to mitigate potentially deleterious impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on children, youth and their families.

Characterizing the Heart Rate Effects From Administration of Sugammadex to Reverse Neuromuscular Blockade: An Observational Study in Patients.

Background: Reversal of neuromuscular blockade (NMB) with sugammadex can cause marked bradycardia and asystole. Administration of sugammadex typically occurs in a dynamic period when anesthetic adjuvants and gas concentrations are being titrated to achieve emergence. This evaluation examined the heart rate (HR) responses to sugammadex to reverse moderate to deep NMB during a steady-state period and sought mechanisms for HR changes.

Restricted visitation policies in acute care settings during the COVID-19 pandemic: a scoping review.

Background: Restricted visitation policies in acute care settings because of the COVID-19 pandemic have negative consequences. The objective of this scoping review is to identify impacts of restricted visitation policies in acute care settings, and describe perspectives and mitigation approaches among patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Methods: We searched Medline, Embase, PsycINFO, Healthstar, CINAHL, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials on January 01/2021, unrestricted, for published primary research records reporting any study design.
