Nipah virus (NiV) is a lethal zoonotic paramyxovirus that can be transmitted from person to person through the respiratory route. There are currently no licensed vaccines or therapeutics. A lipopeptide-based fusion inhibitor was developed and previously evaluated for efficacy against the NiV-Malaysia strain.

Here, we took advantage of the zebrafish mutation which affects Laminin γ1, a major component of basement membranes, to explore its role in the development of the olfactory system. Following a detailed characterisation of Laminin distribution in the developing olfactory circuit, we analysed basement membrane integrity, olfactory placode and brain morphogenesis, and olfactory axon development in mutants, using a combination of immunochemistry, electron microscopy and quantitative live imaging of cell movements and axon behaviours.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the clinical factors that predict abnormal radiographic findings in adults with acute onset binocular diplopia.
Methods: Medical records of consecutive patients aged >20 years who presented with acute binocular diplopia were retrospectively reviewed. Patients were divided into positive and negative groups according to radiographic findings.
