Purpose: A case of BK nephropathy in a kidney transplant recipient who received an organ from a hepatitis C virus (HCV)-positive donor is reported.
Summary: A 66-year-old male negative for HCV with chronic kidney disease secondary to diabetic glomerulosclerosis received a kidney transplant from an HCV-viremic donor. His initial postoperative course was uncomplicated, and HCV treatment with glecaprevir/pibrentasvir was initiated after discharge.
The energy transition towards high shares of renewable energy will affect the stability of electricity grids in many ways. Here, we aim to study its impact on propagation of disturbances by solving nonlinear swing equations describing coupled rotating masses of synchronous generators and motors on different grid topologies. We consider a tree, a square grid and as a real grid topology, the german transmission grid.

In the near-weightless environment of orbiting spacecraft capillary forces dominate interfacial flow phenomena over unearthly large length scales. In current experiments aboard the International Space Station, partially open channels are being investigated to determine critical flow rate-limiting conditions above which the free surface collapses ingesting bubbles. Without the natural passive phase separating qualities of buoyancy, such ingested bubbles can in turn wreak havoc on the fluid transport systems of spacecraft.
