Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA) is an aggressive liver malignancy that arises from second-order biliary epithelial cells. Its incidence is gradually increasing worldwide. Well-known risk factors have been described, although in many cases, they are not identifiable.

The clonal haematopoiesis risk score (CHRS) was proposed to predict the rate of progression from clonal haemopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP)/clonal cytopenia with unknown significance (CCUS) to myeloid neoplasms in the general population. CHRS encompasses the type and VAF of the mutation, the presence of a single DNMT3A mutation, cytopenia, age, red cell distribution width (RDW) and mean corpuscular volume (MCV). We studied clonal haematopoiesis in a cohort of 55 consecutive patients treated with CD19-directed CAR-T cells: CHIP and CCUS were present in 7% and 33% of patients before CAR-T.

A variety of scientific fields like proteomics and spintronics have created a new demand for on-chip devices capable of sensing parameters localized within a few tens of micrometers. Nano and microelectromechanical systems (NEMS/MEMS) are extensively employed for monitoring parameters that exert uniform forces over hundreds of micrometers or more, such as acceleration, pressure, and magnetic fields. However, they can show significantly degraded sensing performance when targeting more localized parameters, like the mass of a single cell.

Mistletoes are xylem-tapping hemiparasites that rely on their hosts for water and nutrient uptake. Thus, they impair tree performance in the face of environmental stress via altering the carbon and water relations and nutritional status of trees. To improve our understanding of physiological responses to mistletoe and ongoing climate change, we investigated radial growth, stable carbon and oxygen isotopic signals, and elemental composition of tree rings in silver fir (Abies alba Mill.

Purpose: To provide data on radiation exposure in paediatric interventional cardiology procedures, addressing the scarcity of valuable Local Diagnostic Reference Levels (LDRLs),established according to the standardized approach proposed by the Radiation Protection 185 report (RP185).

Methods: Paediatric catheterization procedures conducted at the University-Hospital of Padua from September 2019 to December 2022 were stratified by body weight (BW) classes and procedure type. LDRLs were calculated for groups with at least 20 patients as the 75th percentile of Kerma-Area Product (P) and Air Kerma at reference point (K) values.
