Active biological molecules present a powerful, yet largely untapped, opportunity to impart autonomous regulation of materials. Because these systems can function robustly to regulate when and where chemical reactions occur, they have the ability to bring complex, life-like behavior to synthetic materials. Here, we achieve this design feat by using functionalized circadian clock proteins, KaiB and KaiC, to engineer time-dependent crosslinking of colloids.

Human respiratory organoids sustained reproducible propagation of human rhinovirus C and elucidation of virus-host interaction.

The lack of a robust system to reproducibly propagate HRV-C, a family of viruses refractory to cultivation in standard cell lines, has substantially hindered our understanding of this common respiratory pathogen. We sought to develop an organoid-based system to reproducibly propagate HRV-C, and characterize virus-host interaction using respiratory organoids. We demonstrate that airway organoids sustain serial virus passage with the aid of CYT387-mediated immunosuppression, whereas nasal organoids that more closely simulate the upper airway achieve this without any intervention.

A novel monoclonal antibody against human thymic stromal lymphopoietin for the treatment of TSLP-mediated diseases.

Introduction: Thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) is a master regulator of allergic inflammation against pathogens at barrier surfaces of the lung, skin, and gut. However, aberrant TSLP activity is implicated in various allergic, chronic inflammation and autoimmune diseases and cancers. Biologics drugs neutralizing excess TSLP activity represented by tezepelumab have been approved for severe asthma and are being evaluated for the treatments of other TSLP-mediated diseases.

Sociodemographic Factors and Utilization of Pediatric Oncology Satellite Clinics in Ontario, Canada.

Importance: Pediatric cancer care services in high-income nations are mainly centralized in metropolitan cities. To allow treatments closer to home, patients across Ontario, Canada, a geographically large province, are offered decentralized care via satellite clinics; however, it is unclear whether the utilization of these pediatric oncology satellite clinics differs by area-level sociodemographic factors.

Objective: To examine whether sociodemographic factors, such as area-level income and rurality, are independently associated with the odds of satellite clinic visit and the hazards of time to first visit among pediatric oncology patients receiving cancer treatment.

Prevalence of Parent-Reported Problematic Eating Behaviors and Skills at 8-24 Months of Age in Infants Born at Less Than 34 Weeks Gestation.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the evolution and prevalence of parent-reported problematic feeding behaviors and eating skills in infants born prior to 34 weeks at the time of eating solid foods between 8 and 24 months of age, and to explore the associations between problematic feeding and the impact on the parent and family.

Method: Parents of eligible children ( = 35) completed an online survey when their child was 8, 10, 12, 18, and 24 months corrected age. The survey included the Pediatric Eating Assessment Tool (PediEAT), Child Oral and Motor Proficiency Scale (ChOMPS), and the Feeding Impact Scales-Family and Parent.
