Article Synopsis
  • Green synthesized nanoparticles (NPs), particularly cuprous (CuO) and cupric oxide (CuO), have been developed using plant extracts in a non-hazardous process to explore their antimicrobial properties.
  • The synthesized NPs were characterized using various methods, confirming their crystalline structures and distinct morphologies, with results indicating high purity and effectiveness in combating bacteria.
  • The study found that CuO NPs, with a crystal size of 68.19 nm, exhibited significant antibacterial activity against multiple bacterial strains, highlighting their potential as eco-friendly antimicrobial agents.

The influence of Cu-doping on their structural, vibrational and morphological properties of hydrothermally prepared Cu-doped WO has been studied. X-ray Diffraction studies confirm the tetragonal structure of WO and lower angle shift in doped samples indicates the incorporation of Cu in tungsten sites. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) images exhibit micro rod-like morphology of the as-synthesized WO materials shows microstructure with rod-like projections slowly changes into nanorods and plates for doped samples.
