Opening a 60-year time capsule: sequences of historical poliovirus cold variants shed a new light on a contemporary strain.

Polioviruses (PVs) are positive strand RNA viruses responsible for poliomyelitis. Many PVs have been isolated and phenotypically characterized in the 1940s-50s for the purpose of identifying attenuated strains that could be used as vaccine strains. Among these historical PVs, only few are genetically characterized.

Pain management after open colorectal surgery: An update of the systematic review and procedure-specific postoperative pain management (PROSPECT) recommendations.

Background: Open colectomy is still performed around the world and associated with significant postoperative pain.

Objectives: Unpublished recommendations based on a systematic review were proposed by the PROcedure SPECific postoperative pain managemenT (PROSPECT) group in 2016. We aimed to update these recommendations by evaluating the available literature and develop recommendations for optimal pain management after open colectomy according to the PROSPECT methodology.

There are also 60 identified EVs in different mammals.

Physicians' perceptions of the daily use of a handheld ultrasound device in the labor room.

Objective: The objective of our study was to describe the perception of physicians who use a handheld ultrasound (US) device in an intensive perinatal care unit.

Methods: We conducted a prospective observational study in the labor ward of an intensive perinatal care unit between November 2021 and May 2022. Obstetrics & Gynecology residents in rotation in our department during this time were recruited as participants in this study.
