Violence against nurses in the emergency department: an observational study.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the number and risk factors of violent events encountered in the emergency department. An observation grid was developed following interviews with emergency department staff to target the most pertinent information to collect in a prospective study design.

Design: Observational study.

Evaluation of the SLOMYCO Sensititre(®) panel for testing the antimicrobial susceptibility of Mycobacterium marinum isolates.

Background: The agar dilution method is currently considered as the reference method for Mycobacterium marinum drug susceptibility testing (DST). As it is time-consuming, alternative methods, such as the E-test, were evaluated for M. marinum DST, but without success.

Background: Contagious agalactia (CA) of sheep and goats caused by Mycoplasma agalactiae is a widely occurring economically important disease that is difficult to control. The ELISA is commonly used for the serological detection of CA but it has some limitations and the performance of the available tests have not been properly evaluated.Two commercial ELISA kits are widely used, one involving a fusion protein as target antigen and the other a total antigen.

A simplified method of performance indicators development for epidemiological surveillance networks--application to the RESAPATH surveillance network.

Background: Develop and calculate performance indicators allows to continuously follow the operation of an epidemiological surveillance network. This is an internal evaluation method, implemented by the coordinators in collaboration with all the actors of the network. Its purpose is to detect weak points in order to optimize management.

Prevalence of Mycoplasma bovis udder infection in dairy cattle: preliminary field investigation in southeast France.

Aims: To update epidemiological data on Mycoplasma bovis infection in dairy herds from six departments in the southeast of France, in order to obtain a first estimate of the prevalence of M. bovis infection through bacteriological investigations on bulk tank milk, and estimate the prevalence of M. bovis in clinical mastitis in this population of cattle.
