Acute abdomen in post- Covid 19 multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children. A case report.

Aim: As more data about coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) has been gathered it has become evident that children who have had or have been exposed to COVID-19 can develop a rare complication; multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C). We report the case of a 9-year-old boy, who was brought to the emergency room with suspected acute abdomen and was diagnosed with MIS-C.

Methods: The patient had had a positive molecular test for COVID-19, 25 days earlier and fever that started 4 days prior to presentation, He tested negative for COVID on arrival at the emergency room.

Laparoscopic appendectomy, stump closure and endoloops: A meta-analysis.

Background: Acute appendicitis (AA) is one of the main indications for urgent surgery. Laparoscopic appendectomy (LA) has shown advantages in terms of clinical results and cost-effectiveness, even if there is still controversy about different devices to utilize, especially with regards to the endoloop (EL) endostapler (ES) when it comes to stump closure.

Aim: To compare safety and cost-effectiveness of EL ES.

High-dose chemotherapy followed by whole lung irradiation in pulmonary relapse Ewing's sarcomas: a retrospective multicenter study.

Objective: Regarding the efficiency of Bu-Mel-based high-dose-chemotherapy (Bu-Mel-HDCT) and whole lung irradiation (WLI), the objective was to evaluate the efficiency and safety of this salvage sequence in Ewing sarcoma (ES) lung relapses.

Methods: All eligible pediatric ES patients (1991-2020) identified in SFCE departments were retrospectively reviewed. Seven patients were (1) diagnosed with a pulmonary relapse, isolated or not, (2) naïve from both HCDT and WLI (3) treated by the salvage sequence of conventional chemotherapy, Bu-Mel-HDCT and WLI.

Debris-Filled Duodenal Diverticulum and Lemmel's Syndrome.

We report a case of a 73-year-old woman affected by Lemmel's syndrome, a rare type of obstructive jaundice caused by a periampullary duodenal diverticulum. The patient was admitted to the Emergency Department for pneumonia associated with mild epigastric pain and vomiting. While hospitalized for antibiotic treatment, the appearance of jaundice led us to discover a periampullary duodenal diverticulum by endoscopy and CT scan.
