Puerperium is a period of great vulnerability for the woman, associated with intense physical and emotional changes. Maternity blues (MB), also known as baby blues, postnatal blues, or post-partum blues, include low mood and mild, transient, self-limited depressive symptoms, which can be developed in the first days after delivery. Methods: A randomized, single-center controlled trial conducted at the University Center of Assisted Reproductive Technologies involving 101 women infertile women undergoing ICSI cycles was conducted.
Background: Retained placenta represents a cause of maternal morbidity and mortality affecting 0.5-3% of all vaginal deliveries. The unpredictability of this condition makes difficult to develop predictive and preventive strategies to apply in clinical practice.

Introduction: Retained placenta (RP) is an obstetric complication of third stage of labour. We aimed to evaluate risk factors for RP and to propose a scoring system in order to predict this potentially fatal disorder.
Methods: This was a retrospective case-control study, comparing women with RP after vaginal delivery (≥ 24 weeks of gestation) and women with regular placental separation.
Obesity, impaired glucose tolerance, type 2 diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, and insulin resistance are wellknown components of metabolic syndrome and are associated to increased cardiovascular morbidity. The present study aimed to evaluate the relationships between cardiorespiratory fitness, body fat distribution, and selected coronary heart disease risk factors. A total of 22 untrained subjects affected by one or more features of metabolic syndrome and without clinical history of cardiovascular disease were studied.
