Purpose: Malignant ureteral obstruction is generally associated with a poor disease prognosis; therefore, managing these cases is challenging. We describe our experience in treating malignant ureteral obstruction with urinary diversion and the impact of these procedures on the indication for new antineoplastic therapy and survival.
Materials And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the data of patients with advanced cancer associated with malignant ureteral obstruction who underwent urinary diversion at three tertiary institutions between January 2013 and July 2022.
Background And Purpose: Recent advances in cancer treatment have resulted in better prognosis with impact on patient's survival, allowing an increase in incidence of a second primary neoplasm. The development of minimally invasive surgery has provided similar outcomes in comparison to open surgery with potentially less morbidity. Consequently, this technique has been used as a safe option to simultaneously treat synchronous abdominal malignancies during a single operating room visit.

Methods: From 132 patients surgically treated for prostate cancer, thirty sequential patients with bilateral nerve sparing, low risk controlled disease and post-surgery erectile dysfunction (ED) took Tadalafil 20mg and underwent psychotherapy sessions, both weekly for three months. Patients were interviewed to establish the quality of erection using the instrument IIEF-5 and to measure psychological features impacting erectile function, aspects related to function, dysfunction, physical and emotional discomfort were evaluated with the help of an intensity scale.
