Sepsis is a risk factor associated with increasing neonatal morbidity and mortality, acute lung injury, and chronic lung disease. While stem cell therapy has shown promise in alleviating acute lung injury, its effects are primarily exerted through paracrine mechanisms rather than local engraftment. Accumulating evidence suggests that these paracrine effects are mediated by mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived small extracellular vesicles (sEVs), which play a critical role in immune system modulation and tissue regeneration.

A critical disparity in the CRCI field is that most pre-clinical studies have been conducted on young cancer-free male rodents, although CRCI predominantly affects breast cancer and ovarian cancer women survivors. Since oxidative stress is widely implicated in the development of CRCI, we developed an ovarian cancer xenograft rat model of CRCI in Cr:NIH-RNU female rats to examine whether administration of the antioxidant N-acetylcysteine (NAC) prevents cisplatin-induced CRCI without altering its anti-cancer efficacy.

This study aimed to assess patients' knowledge on their immunotherapies and their quality of life before and after receiving immunotherapy for the first time in a cancer centre.
Methods: From July 2018 to September 2020, all patients treated at the cancer centre receiving first-time immunotherapy were invited to participate in a cross-sectional descriptive study.
Background: Obecabtagene autoleucel (obe-cel) is an autologous 41BB-ζ anti-CD19 chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy which uses an intermediate-affinity CAR to reduce toxic effects and improve persistence.
Methods: We conducted a phase 1b-2 multicenter study of obe-cel in adults (≥18 years of age) with relapsed or refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). The main cohort, cohort 2A, included patients with morphologic disease; patients in cohort 2B had measurable residual disease.

Macrophage activating syndrome (MAS) is a potentially life-threatening condition falling under the spectrum of secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, in the backdrop of rheumatological conditions. In this case of a middle-aged man, we see how an initial Epstein Barr virus infection triggered a chain of events, which after serial monitoring of labs was promptly diagnosed as MAS and treated appropriately, resulting in overall clinical improvement of the patient.
