Periodontal, occlusal, and aesthetic outcomes of missing maxillary lateral incisor replacement: A systematic review and network meta-analysis.

Introduction: The aim of this systematic review was to determine the best treatment alternatives for patients with maxillary lateral incisor agenesis (MLIA) by comparing orthodontic space closure, implant and tooth supported dental prostheses by assessing studies that evaluated their periodontal, occlusal (function) and aesthetic results.

Methods: The present systematic review was reported according to the indications of the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis (PRISMA) incorporating network meta-analysis, and the protocol was registered with PROSPERO (CRD42023487245). The PRISMA systematic search, without restriction on language or initial date, was carried out using electronic databases: MEDLINE (PubMed), Scopus and central register of controlled trials.

A new telemedicine-based sleep service using WatchPAT ONE for patients with suspected OSA: what does the patient experience?

Purpose: Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a widespread disease but is very underdiagnosed and undertreated. The aim of this study is to assess the effectiveness and patient satisfaction of using the WatchPAT ONE, a disposable home sleep apnea test device, within a telemedicine-based management pathway.

Methods: All patients who used the telemedicine services for OSA diagnosis using the WatchPAT ONE were prospectively enrolled in the study.

Artificial intelligence in screening and diagnosis of surgical diseases: A narrative review.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is playing an increasing role in several fields of medicine. It is also gaining popularity among surgeons as a valuable screening and diagnostic tool for many conditions such as benign and malignant colorectal, gastric, thyroid, parathyroid, and breast disorders. In the literature, there is no review that groups together the various application domains of AI when it comes to the screening and diagnosis of main surgical diseases.
