GOTermViewer: Visualization of Gene Ontology Enrichment in Multiple Differential Gene Expression Analyses.

Gene ontology phrases are a widely used set of hierarchical terms that describe the biological properties of genes. These terms are then used to annotate individual genes, making it possible to determine the likely physiological properties of groups of genes such as a list of differentially expressed genes. Consequently, their ability to predict changes in biological features and functions based on alterations in gene expression has made gene ontology terms popular in the wide range of bioinformatic fields, such as differential gene expression and evolutionary biology.

Polymeric Nanocapsules Loaded with Lidocaine: A Promising Formulation for Topical Dental Anesthesia.

Lidocaine is the most commonly used local anesthetic worldwide, known for its rapid onset and moderate duration of anesthesia. However, it is short-lived and does not effectively promote effective topical anesthesia in the oral cavity when used alone. Our aim was to investigate whether an approximate 50% encapsulation of lidocaine in poly(ε-caprolactone) nanocapsules (LDC-Nano) would be able to increase its permeation and analgesic efficacy and reduce cytotoxicity.

Ultimobranchial body cyst in an adult horse: clinical, histopathologic, and immunohistochemical features.

A 9-y-old Mangalarga Marchador gelding was referred to a veterinary hospital because of a swelling on the upper right side of the neck. Ultrasound examination revealed a multilocular structure adjacent to the thyroid gland with low echogenic content suggestive of fluid. The mass was removed surgically.

Sputum-Rheology-Based Strategy for Guiding Azithromycin Prescription in COPD Patients with Frequent Exacerbations: A Randomized, Controlled Study ("COPD CARhE").

(1) Background: We have previously shown that sputum rheology can discriminate between patients with COPD and other muco-obstructive lung diseases, and that it is correlated with mucin content and sputum eosinophilia. We now hypothesize that it could be a more-accurate guide than clinical evaluation for the prescription of azithromycin to prevent exacerbations of COPD and to reduce exposure to antibiotics; (2) Methods: "COPD CaRhe" is a multicentric, randomized, controlled trial comparing outcomes in two parallel arms (36 vs. 36 patients).
