Objectives: To review the clinical and radiological correlation of the central nervous system manifestations of tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC).

Methods: All patients under the age of 18 years with TSC seen at the Department of Pediatrics, Sidra Medicine, Doha, Qatar, between January 2003 and February 2021 were included in this retrospective study. Severity of epilepsy was determined using the early childhood epilepsy severity score (E-CHESS) tool.

Article Synopsis
  • The study focuses on creating new 1,3,4-thiadiazole derivatives from (R)-carvone through a three-step synthesis process, including various reactions.
  • The resulting compounds were analyzed for their structures using NMR and HRMS, and some showed significant anti-cancer effects in cytotoxic tests.
  • Molecular modeling and docking studies examined the interactions of the most active compounds with proteins related to cancer, revealing differences in their binding potential and stability compared to standard drugs while also assessing their chemical stability through DFT studies.

Epithelioid hemangioma (EH), also known as angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia, is an unusual vascular proliferation that tends to manifest in the head and neck region. Its occurrence on the penis is rare, with only scarce reported cases in the literature. The histopathological examination of this condition poses a challenge because it shares similarities with other entities, such as epithelioid hemangioendothelioma, epithelioid angiosarcoma, cutaneous epithelioid angiomatous nodule, or Kaposi sarcoma (KS).

This study aimed to develop novel isoxazoline-1,3,4-thiadiazole hybrids from (S)-verbenone for potential anticancer treatment, particularly focusing on cytotoxic and apoptotic effects in hormone-sensitive MCF-7 and triple-negative MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. (S)-verbenone was used to synthesize hybrids through 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition, followed by thorough characterization. The compounds were screened across cancer cell lines, showing significant anticancer effects.
