Obesity is a known risk factor for many chronic diseases and a substantial threat to public health. We investigated the effects of figs sourced from on a high fat-fed experimental rat model. We found that a 500-mg dose of ethanolic extract of figs (EFH) reduced oxidative stress markers nitric oxide (NO), malondialdehyde (MDA), and advanced oxidation protein products (AOPP), which were increased in high fat-fed rats.

Thymol (THY), as the natural monoterpene phenol, acts against oxidative stress and inflammatory processes. This study aimed to evaluate the anti-inflammatory effects and possible molecular mechanisms of THY via formalin-induced mouse and egg albumin-induced chick models alongside molecular docking and molecular dynamic (MD) simulations. THY (7.

Article Synopsis
  • The study highlights that traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a significant issue in Bangladesh, with limited medical facilities and specialist resources impacting patient care.
  • A total of 280 TBI patients were analyzed, revealing a predominance of injury caused by road traffic accidents, particularly among young adults aged 18-50, and a notable portion suffering from severe and moderate TBI.
  • The findings link certain demographic and clinical factors, such as consciousness post-injury and CT scan results, to TBI severity and prognosis, emphasizing that patients with more severe injuries face greater risks for unfavorable outcomes.

This study aims to improve the biopharmaceutical, mechanical, and tableting properties of a poorly soluble drug, ibuprofen (IBP), by preparing amorphous solid dispersion (ASD) followed by a sustained-release tablet formulation. A suitable polymer to develop an ASD system was chosen by utilizing the apparent solubility of IBP in various polymer solutions. ASDs containing various ratios of IBP and selected polymer were prepared by the melt fusion (MF) method.
