Metabolomic profiling analysis has the potential to highlight new molecules and cellular pathways that may serve as potential therapeutic targets for disease treatment. In this study, we used an LC-MS/MS platform to define, for the first time, the specific metabolomic signature of uterine serous carcinoma (SC), a relatively rare and aggressive variant of endometrial cancer (EC) responsible for 40% of all endometrial cancer-related deaths. A metabolomic analysis of 31 ECs (20 endometrial endometrioid carcinomas (EECs) and 11 SCs) was performed.

The work assesses the performance of nanocarriers from amphiphilic block copolymers with functional azobenzene or coumarin moieties for delivery of paclitaxel. Placlitaxel was encapsulated by the nanoprecipitation method. Characterisations were performed by DLS, TEM, Zeta potential and HPLC.

The synthesis of polymeric nanoparticles from a block copolymer based on poly(ethylene glycol) and a polymethacrylate containing the nucleobase analog 2,6-diacylaminopyridine is optimized by microfluidics to obtain homogeneous spherical micelles. Loading and delivery properties are studied using naproxen as a model. The incorporation of a Pd precursor in the polymer organic solution fed into the micromixer allows the preparation of Pd(II) precursor-polymer hybrid systems and the subsequent reduction with CO leads to the in situ synthesis of Pd nanosheets inside of the hydrophobic core of the polymeric micelles.

This single-center, retrospective cohort study sought to estimate the cumulative incidence in HIV-1-infected patients of biopsy-proven high-grade anal intraepithelial neoplasia (HGAIN) recurrence after infrared coagulation (IRC) treatment. The study was based on data from a prospectively compiled database of 665 HIV-1-infected outpatients who attended a hospital Clinical Proctology/HIV Unit between January 2012 and December 2015. Patient records were checked to see which ones had received IRC treatment but later experienced a recurrence of HGAIN.

Hybrid linear-dendritic block copolymers (LDBCs) having dendrons with a precise number of peripheral groups that are able to supramolecular bind functional moieties are challenging materials as versatile polymeric platforms for the preparation of functional polymeric nanocarriers. LDBCs that are based on polyethylene glycol (PEG) as hydrophilic blocks and dendrons derived from bis-MPA having 2,6-diacylaminopyridine (DAP) units have been efficiently synthesized by the click coupling of preformed blocks, as was demonstrated by spectroscopic techniques and mass spectrometry. Self-assembly ability was first checked by nanoprecipitation.
