Patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) may exhibit poorer performance in visuomotor tasks than healthy individuals, particularly under conditions with high cognitive load. Few studies have examined reaching movements in MCI and did so without assessing susceptibility to distractor interference. This proof-of-concept study analyzed the kinematics of visually guided reaching movements towards a target dot placed along the participants' midsagittal/reaching axis.

Flexuous particles of around 600 nm were observed using transmission electron microscopy, and next-generation sequencing was performed to determine the nucleotide sequence of the MVC genome, which was found to be 8558 nt long, excluding the poly(A) tail, and shows the typical organization of a carlavirus. The putative proteins encoded by MVC are 44-56% identical to the closest matches in the NCBI database, suggesting that MVC should be considered a member of a new species in the genus Carlavirus.

Metal-based complexes, such as -heterocyclic carbene-gold (NHC-gold) complexes, show promising therapeutic potential due to their ability to inhibit various pathogens.
Methods: Eight NHC-gold complexes were synthesized and tested for antibacterial activity against , , and for anti-influenza activity in lung and bronchial epithelial cells infected with influenza virus A/H1N1.
The advent of long-read (LR) sequencing technologies has provided a direct opportunity to determine the structure of transcripts with potential for end-to-end sequencing of full-length RNAs. LR methods that have been described to date include commercial offerings from Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) and Pacific Biosciences. These kits are based on selection of polyadenylated (polyA+) RNAs and/or oligo-dT priming of reverse transcription.

To resolve genome dysregulation associated with HPV integration, we performed Oxford Nanopore long-read sequencing on 72 cervical cancer genomes from an Ugandan dataset that was previously characterized using short-read sequencing. We found recurrent structural rearrangement patterns at HPV integration events, which we categorized as: del(etion)-like, dup(lication)-like, translocation, multibreakpoint, or repeat region integrations.
