Forkhead box protein P1 (FOXP1), a transcription factor enriched in the neocortex, is associated with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) and FOXP1 syndrome. Emx1;Foxp1 conditional deletion (Foxp1 conditional knockout [cKO]) in the mouse cortex leads to overall reduced cortex thickness, alterations in cortical lamination, and changes in the relative thickness of cortical layers. However, the developmental and cell-type-specific mechanisms underlying these changes remained unclear.

Using Isotopic Fine Structure (IFS) mass spectrometry, we rapidly identified three new dimeric benzofluorene glycosides, lomaiviticins F-H (-), from a marine-derived sp. bacterium.

Mitochondrial GSH (mGSH) transport is a poorly characterized aspect of GSH metabolism, which we investigate in the context of cancer. Existing functional annotation approaches from machine (ML) or deep learning (DL) models based only on protein sequences, were unable to annotate functions in biological contexts.

We investigated the independent effects of inspiratory negative and expiratory positive intrathoracic pressure on septal geometry, LV chamber function, and rotation, twist, and strain indices. After baseline, 20 healthy adults (11M/9F, 23 ± 4 yr) performed resistive breathing to manipulate inspiratory (-30, -20, -10 cmHO) or expiratory (+10, +20 cmHO) intrathoracic pressure.
