The widespread use of plastics in the food industry raises concerns about plastic migration and health risks. The degradation of primary polymers like polystyrene (PS) and polyethylene (PE) can generate nanoplastics (NPs), increasing food biohazard. This study assessed the impact of PS, PE, and PS + PE NPs on (CV) and (HP) before and after in vitro and ex vivo digestion, focusing on particle size, polydispersity index, and surface charge.

Background/objectives: Goto-Kakizaki (GK) rats exhibit insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) without obesity. This study explored the effects of ω-3 fatty acid supplementation on T lymphocyte polarization in Wistar (WT) and GK rats.

Two new species of Metrichia from Roraima State, Brazil, are described and illustrated, representing additional records of Metrichia from the Brazilian Amazon biome. The male of Metrichia iracema sp nov. is characterized by inferior appendages each elongate, with an acute apical projection and a deep C-shaped notch, tergum X apex slightly incised, and dorsal hook with a longer dorsal branch extending anterad.

Objective: To compare child health booklet (CHB) use and filling out among mothers who were or were not Bolsa Família Program (BFP) beneficiaries.

Methods: Cross-sectional study with mothers of children <6years attending health centers in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, between January-February/2023.
