Akira Endo is a medical innovator who sought to change the tide of this epidemic. He is often referred to as the "Father of Statins" because of his identification of the first 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) inhibitor, which fostered a new era in cholesterol treatment.

A proposed nursing faculty workforce development project by a college of nursing within a research-intensive institution will increase the number of nurse faculty from the current population of BSN-prepared nurses from underserved communities in a state to earn a master of science in nursing (MSN) degree with a nursing education specialty. This project will be accomplished through partnerships between a college of nursing and academic institutions with large nursing student populations from underserved communities. In addition, the project will incorporate the employment of MSN students at academic partner institutions within a clinical nurse faculty role.

Here we re-analyze RNA-sequencing data from the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) of SZ patients using recent methods to improve accuracy and sensitivity of results, such as the quality surrogate variable analysis (qSVA) method and the derfinder R package. We found that genes significantly down-regulated in SZ demonstrated an enrichment for parvalbumin-positive interneurons (FDR < 0.0001).

Models of fluid flow are used to improve the efficiency of oil and gas extraction and to estimate the storage and leakage of carbon dioxide in geologic reservoirs. Therefore, a quantitative understanding of key parameters of rock-fluid interactions, such as contact angles, wetting, and the rate of spontaneous imbibition, is necessary if these models are to predict reservoir behavior accurately. In this study, aqueous fluid imbibition rates were measured in fractures in samples of the Eagle Ford Shale using neutron imaging.
