This article provides an overview and case study demonstrating the clinical use of this analysis. Objective: To describe the visual outcome, fundus appearance, and fluorescein angiographic findings of a patient diagnosed as having acute West Nile virus infection.

Methods: We conducted comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity testing and slitlamp and fundus examinations, along with fluorescein angiography at the initial and follow-up visits.

Results: A 62-year-old white woman had a 2-week history of floaters in her left eye along with symptoms of fatigue, a left-sided frontal headache, and a low-grade fever.

Pectate lyase A is secreted by Erwinia chrysanthemi and is a virulence factor for soft rot diseases in plants. Crystals of pectate lyase A were obtained by vapor-diffusion techniques in the presence of polyethylene glycol. The crystals belong to the monoclinic space group P2(1), with unit-cell parameters a = 48.

Isoflurane, a halogenated volatile anesthetic, has not been associated with a distinct hepatic injury syndrome, as has halothane. Previous cases of suspected isoflurane-induced hepatotoxicity have been reported but questioned. We report the case of a patient without previous liver disease who developed repeated episodes of hepatitis after repeated exposures to isoflurane.

We describe a case of ganglioglioma of the optic chiasm and tract in a 33-year-old man. Review of the literature discloses only seven cases of tumors of the anterior visual pathway that meet the histological criteria for such neoplasms. A detailed histological description of our case and a review of the literature is provided.
