The goal of this study was to evaluate characteristics associated with Pre-exposure Prophylaxis for HIV infection (PrEP) non-adherence or discontinuation in Brazil and assess the association between these outcomes and HIV seroconversion. We used linked national dispensing and pathology data to identify people aged 14+ years initiating PrEP in 2018. We estimated non-adherence using the proportion of days covered (PDC), defining non-adherence as PDC < 60%.

Purpose: Acute appendicitis during pregnancy poses unique challenges due to altered anatomical and physiological dynamics and concern about foetal well-being. This study aimed to assess management strategies and outcomes of acute appendicitis during pregnancy, focusing on non-operative management versus surgical intervention.
Methods: The study is based on the computerized healthcare utilization database of Lombardy.
Solid-state batteries offer significant advantages but present several challenges. Given the complexity of these systems, it is good practice to begin the study with simpler models and progressively advance to more complex configurations, all while maintaining an understanding of the physical principles governing solid-state battery operation. The results presented in this work pertain to cells without traditional electrodes, thus providing a foundation for guiding the development of fully functional solid-state cells.
