Nursing students experience inadequate sleep because of academic demands, with detrimental effects on academic performance. Objective and subjective data informed students' sleep patterns. Actigraphy data revealed that students (n = 46) slept for 392 minutes per night.

Neuroendocrine neoplasms represent a broad group of uncommon tumours, comprising neuroendocrine tumours, mixed neuroendocrine non-endocrine neoplasms and neuroendocrine carcinomas. While most neuroendocrine neoplasms are well differentiated and exhibit indolent disease biology with excellent treatment response, neuroendocrine carcinomas represent a rare subtype with much more aggressive tumour behaviour, minimal response to adjuvant therapy and extremely poor prognosis. Herein, we report the case of a 47-year-old man who presented with a phlegmonous ascending colonic mass and associated calcified ileocolic lymphadenopathy.

Background: Few Americans meet the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA), yet a large percentage are overweight.

Objective: The goal of this research was to examine the association between barriers and facilitators to meeting the DGA and weight in a multisite study.

Design: This was a cross-sectional study in which 836 caregiver-child dyads among 3 race/ethnic groups completed the questionnaire across 6 sites participating in the HEALTH (Healthy Eating and Lifestyle for Total Health) Study.

The discovery of vitamins and clarification of their role in preventing frank essential nutrient deficiencies occurred in the early 1900s. Much vitamin research has understandably focused on public health and the effects of single nutrients to alleviate acute conditions. The physiological processes for maintaining health, however, are complex systems that depend upon interactions between multiple nutrients, environmental factors, and genetic makeup.

Micronutrient research typically focuses on analyzing the effects of single or a few nutrients on health by analyzing a limited number of biomarkers. The observational study described here analyzed micronutrients, plasma proteins, dietary intakes, and genotype using a systems approach. Participants attended a community-based summer day program for 6-14 year old in 2 years.
