FUPEC study, a prospective open-cohort on severe pre-eclampsia and cardiovascular risk factors based in the Netherlands.

Purpose: The FUPEC (Follow-Up Pre-EClampsia) study aims to investigate the presence and development of cardiovascular risk factors, cardiovascular disease, as well as cardiovascular health following a pregnancy complicated by severe pre-eclampsia.

Participants: The FUPEC study is an open-cohort study conducted within routine care at the FUPEC clinic at Erasmus Medical Center in the Netherlands. This clinic is specifically designed for the cardiovascular follow-up of patients who have experienced severe pre-eclampsia.

Controlling nanoparticle placement in Au/TiO inverse opal photocatalysts.

Gold nanoparticle-loaded titania (Au/TiO) inverse opals are highly ordered three-dimensional photonic structures with enhanced photocatalytic properties. However, fine control over the placement of the Au nanoparticles in the inverse opal structures remains challenging with traditional preparative methods. Here, we present a multi-component co-assembly strategy to prepare high-quality Au/TiO inverse opal films in which Au nanoparticles are either located on, or inside the TiO matrix, as verified using electron tomography.

Evaluation of a new two-step frailty assessment of head and neck patients in a prospective cohort.

Purpose: Assessing frailty, in head and neck cancer (HNC) patients is key when choosing appropriate treatment. Optimal screening is challenging, as it should be feasible and should avoid over-referral for comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) This study aims to evaluate the association between geriatric assessment using a new two-step care pathway, referral to geriatrician and adverse outcomes.

Methods: This institutional retrospective analysis on a prospective cohort analysed the multimodal geriatric assessment (GA) of newly diagnosed HNC patients.

Management of adult-onset Still's disease: evidence- and consensus-based recommendations by experts.

Objectives: Adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD) is a rare condition characterized by fevers, rash, and arthralgia/arthritis; most doctors treating AOSD in the Netherlands treat <5 patients per year. Currently, there is no internationally accepted treatment guideline for AOSD. The objectives of this study were to conduct a Delphi panel aimed at reaching consensus about diagnostic and treatment strategies for patients with AOSD and to use the outcomes as a basis for a treatment algorithm.
