Treatment patterns and outcomes in secondary acute myeloid leukemia arising after hypomethylating agents: PETHEMA registry study.

Background: Patients with secondary acute myeloid leukemia who previously received hypomethylating agents for prior myeloid neoplasms (HMA-sAML) face a dismal prognosis.

Methods: The authors analyze the characteristics, therapeutic approaches, and outcomes of patients with HMA-sAML from the Programa Español para el Tratamiento de Hemopatías Malignas (PETHEMA) registry.

Results: A total of 479 patients were included, mostly from prior myelodysplastic syndrome (84%).

Use of non-specific immunoglobulins in Catalonia in three third-level hospitals: a descriptive analysis of a hospital-prescribed medication registry.

Background: The increasing use of non-specific immunoglobulins (NSIGs) and their current shortage show a need for NSIGs' use prioritization. Data from a clinical perspective are necessary, mainly for pediatric patients.

Objectives: The aim of the study was to assess the level of clinical evidence (LoE) of the indications that NSIGs are used for, the reasons for discontinuation, and the costs invested.

Real-world experience of galcanezumab in the prevention of migraine in Spain: a systematic literature review.

Introduction: In the context of migraine preventive therapy, new therapeutic modalities such as monoclonal antibodies targeting the calcitonin gene-related peptide receptor (CGRP) or ligand offer potential advantages over traditional preventive treatments.

Methods: This systematic literature review gathered recent real-world evidence from Spain on the use of galcanezumab, a CGRP-targeting treatment, in migraine patients. The review included observational studies in English or Spanish, published from August 2020 to August 2023, following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) and Cochrane guidelines.

Interstitial pneumonitis due everolimus in a liver transplant recipient.

This is a case report of a patient with a history of liver transplant who developed interstitial pneumonitis due to immunosuppressive treatment. Everolimus-induced pneumonitis in liver transplant recipients is a rare condition. This observation aims to highlight the significance of being aware of this condition, being suspicious of it, and getting a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Surgical anatomy of the inferior hypophyseal artery and its relevance for endoscopic endonasal skull base surgery.

Objective: The inferior hypophyseal arteries (IHAs) are intimately related to pituitary and cavernous sinus (CS) lesions. There is still no anatomical study specifically analyzing the IHAs. The aim of this study was to investigate the surgical anatomy and variations of the IHA, and to translate this knowledge into surgical practice.
