Background/objectives: Pain is a complex and subjective experience influenced by psychological, cultural, and social factors. This study aims to investigate how social perceptions of pain affect the lived experiences and coping mechanisms of individuals suffering from pain. By comparing public discourse with the experiences of sufferers, we explore whether the social legitimacy of pain influences how it is managed.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection often involves the nervous system, leading to cognitive dysfunctions, fatigue and many other neurological signs that are becoming increasingly recognized. Despite mild forms of the disease accounting for most cases worldwide, research on the pathophysiology driving mild coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has received little attention. In this respect, recent evidence has pointed out that around 30-40% of non-critical, mild-to-moderate severity COVID-19 survivors may display cognitive disturbances several months post-illness.

Article Synopsis
  • - Green hydrogen is a promising clean energy source derived from water, efficiently storing electrical energy from renewable sources like wind and solar, but direct production from neutral water is difficult due to low proton concentration.
  • - Researchers developed three new molecular electrodes using cobalt-based electrocatalysts with different ligands (porphyrin, phthalocyanine, and corrin) on modified graphite, with the Co-porphyrin electrode showing the highest efficiency for water reduction.
  • - The Co-porphyrin electrode demonstrated significant improvements in hydrogen production potential over time and maintained consistent hydrogen generation during testing, with the best turnover frequency noted among the three electrodes tested.

Corneal ulcers are a common and potentially vision-threatening condition in horses that can be challenging to treat with conventional therapies alone. This case report describes the successful treatment of a non-healing corneal ulcer in a 28-year-old Hispano-Bretón mare using the secretome derived from adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ASCs). Despite initial treatment with antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, and surgical debridement, the corneal ulcer failed to heal properly, exhibiting persistent epithelial defects and stromal complications.

The development of green and environmentally friendly synthesis methods of electrocatalysts is a crucial aspect in decarbonizing energy generation. In this study, eco-friendly mechanochemical synthesis of perovskite metal oxide-carbon black composites is proposed using different conditions and additives such as KOH. Furthermore, the optimization of ball milling conditions, including time and rotational speed, is studied.
