Aging epithelia are colonized by somatic mutations, which are subjected to selection influenced by intrinsic and extrinsic factors. The lack of suitable culture systems has slowed the study of this and other long-term biological processes. Here, we describe epithelioids, a facile, cost-effective method of culturing multiple mouse and human epithelia.

In this work, we investigated the relationship between the electrical and magnetic properties of the superparamagnetic (SPM) LaSrMnO (S1C0) compound prepared by the sol-gel method. The (S1C0) sample displayed a ferromagnetic metallic (FMM) behavior at low temperatures and a paramagnetic semiconductor (PMSC) behavior at high temperatures. The FMM behavior was described by the Zener Double Exchange (ZDE) polynomial law containing the contributions of the electron-electron (e-e) interactions and the electron-magnon (e-m) scattering.

In the present paper, the powders were synthesized via the auto-combustion method. The optical, the positron annihilation spectroscopy and the gas sensing properties of our sample were investigated simultaneously. FTIR spectrum revealed the antisymmetric deformation vibrations of the Fe-O and Fe-O-Fe bonds inside the octahedron FeO.

The coronary perivascular adipose tissue (cPVAT) has been associated to the burden of cardiovascular risk factors and to the underlying vessel atherosclerotic plaque severity. Although the "outside to inside" hypothesis of PVAT-derived-adipokine regulation of vessel function is currently accepted, whether the resident mesenchymal stem cells (ASCs) in PVAT have a regulatory role on the underlying vascular arterial smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) is not known. Here, we investigated the interactions between resident PVAT-ASCs and VSMCs.

This study focused on understanding the influence of stormwater on sediment recontamination and biota bioaccumulation. Stormwater and sediment sampling was conducted at Paleta Creek San Diego, CA, a mixed-use urban watershed. Stormwater samples were size fractioned into clay, silt, sand, and filtered fractions to better understand the association of PAHs and PCBs with different particle sizes.
