Regenerative and reconstructive periodontal plastic surgery are important options for treating marginal tissue recession and can be indicated for root coverage or periodontal procedures prior to implant placement. Among the available procedures, periodontal flaps with subepithelial connective tissue graft (CTG) is the most common treatment option to achieve proper tissue manipulation. The present study proposes a modification of a previous technique for inducing spontaneous gingival growth around teeth that will be extracted prior to implant placement, through successive reduction of the buccal root surface.

Travelling at excessive speed increases the risk of having a road crash. Intelligent Speed Adaptation (ISA) systems might help the driver to make safe speed decisions along road sections with limited visibility. A recently developed ISA system, called V-ISA (Hazoor et al.

This study provides new evidence of the presence of an ancient Roman road in correspondence to a paleobeach ridge now submerged in the Venice Lagoon (Italy). New high resolution underwater seafloor data shed new light on the significance of the Roman remains in the lagoon. The interpretation of the data through archive and geo-archaeological research allowed a three-dimensional architectural reconstruction of the Roman road.

Background: Alcohol consumption is responsible for a significant number of road fatalities. To contrast this phenomenon, a more responsible attitude to the wine consumption, especially among young, inexperienced drivers prone to risky behaviour on the road must be promoted.

Method: This is a simplified single-blind, placebo-controlled experiment aimed at evaluating 44 young drivers monitored during a driving simulation following the consumption of natural and conventional wines, with a reference blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.
